Concrete court for basketball

Concrete floor is suitable for outdoor basket ball court which is less in cost and longlasting.

Specification:

A basketball court is 91.86ft long and 49.21ft wide. The total playing area for a court is 4520.43 ft² and 7290.5ft² if run-offs and sidelines are required.

Process of installation :

  1. If you want a regulation-sized court like the NBA and NCAA, find a flat area that has enough space for the full court. Measure the area and place stakes where you want the corners. Tie string between the stakes to mark off the entire perimeter of your court. Make sure you have about 2–3 feet (61–91 cm) of space around the outside of the court so you have room to install your hoops and space around the sidelines
  2. Dig the site to a depth of 8 in (20 cm). Add a 4 in (10 cm) layer of compacted gravel.
  3. Frame the site with 2 in × 4 in (5.1 cm × 10.2 cm) boards.
  4. Make a grid of steel rebar 2 in (5.1 cm) above the gravel.
  5. Hire a concrete company to pour a 4 in (10 cm) slab in the frame.
  6. Smooth the concrete while it’s wet with a float tool.
  7. Let the concrete dry for 1–2 days. Drying times may be longer if you live in a humid climate.
  8. Saw a 10 ft × 10 ft (3.0 m × 3.0 m) grid into the concrete to prevent cracking.
  9. Choose basketball hoops that are 10 ft (3.0 m) tall.
  10. Set your hoops centered on the short sides so they overhang by 4 ft (1.2 m).
  11. Dig holes that are 3 ft (0.91 m) deep and 16 in (41 cm) wide.
  12. Fill the holes with 4 in (10 cm) of gravel so there’s a sturdy base.
  13. Frame the tops of the holes with 2 in × 4 in (5.1 cm × 10.2 cm) boards.
  14. Set the basketball hoops inside of the holes so they’re vertical. Fill the holes in with concrete.
  15. Let the concrete cure for 3 days.
  16. Mark 16 ft × 19 ft (4.9 m × 5.8 m) boxes in front of each hoop. Place the 3-point lines 23 34 ft (7.2 m) around the hoops.
  17. Draw the center line through the middle of the court.
  18. Make stencils for the lines on your court using painters’ tape.
  19. Paint the lines with a roller using exterior concrete paint. Peel the tape off of the court once the paint dries.
